For children 🧒
When you use the microphone, the app just listens to check you had a go. It does not keep your voice. Nobody can play it back.
Microphone and voice
- The microphone only turns on when the child presses the speak button, and only after an adult has given permission in Adult setup.
- Sound is checked on the device only to tell whether speech was heard. It is not recorded, saved, sent to any server, or used to train AI.
- The microphone turns off as soon as the button is released, cancelled, or the page is left.
- There is no automatic pronunciation scoring.
What we store
- The adult account's name, email and whether you're a parent or teacher.
- Each child's first name (or nickname) and age range.
- Words, sounds and phrases added as practice targets, with any notes.
- Which words were practised, when, and the buttons pressed (said it / try again / skip).
- Animals collected.
Only the adult who added a child can see their information. Removing a child deletes all of their practice data.
Spoken words
When you tap Listen, the practice word (just the text, never your child's voice) is sent to a text-to-speech service to create the British English audio.
