How to use Sound Adventure

1. Get started

  • Create a free parent or teacher account.
  • Add a child (or pupil) and choose their age — this sets how hard the words are.
  • Tap ⚙️ settings on a child to pick a theme world or turn on Calm Mode.

2. Play the adventure

  • Tap Play ▶️, choose a sound (like S or SH) and where it is in the word.
  • Tap 🔊 Hear it, then let your child say the word.
  • Tap “Said it!”, “Try again” or “Skip”. Every success moves the fox along the path.
  • Reach the treasure, tap the present and collect an animal!

3. When a child is stuck

  • Slide your finger along the bar under the word to hear it in small parts.
  • Use “Slow” to hear the whole word gently.
  • Keep it fun — stop before they get tired. Short, frequent sessions work best.

4. Speech practice

  • Tap Speech 🗣️ to add words, sounds or phrases a speech therapist has asked you to practise.
  • Mark the most important ones as priority.
  • Hold to Speak only checks that a voice was heard — nothing is recorded or saved.

5. Track progress

  • Tap Progress 📈 to see words practised, practice days, collected animals and words needing more practice.
  • Print a summary to share with your child's speech and language therapist.

6. Schools

  • A head or deputy head opens “School” and creates the school.
  • Add each teacher's email address — they'll see the invite when they sign in with that email.
  • Leaders see how many pupils each teacher has and how much practice is happening. Individual pupils' details stay with their teacher.

7. Feedback

  • Use the 💬 Feedback button to tell us what's working or request a new feature.

Sound Adventure supports practice at home and school; it doesn't replace a speech and language therapist.
